It's Been Confirmed!

GIRL!  Ok, well as official as an ultrasound can be.  I know it is not 100%, but it was a perfect shot finally and definitely looks like girl parts!  Time to get washing!  My mom is relieved we won't have to repaint the room!!  I had my last ultrasound today.  Baby is head down now,  my little acrobat!  And VERY active.  I also had my Group B Strep test done, and some other routine lab work.  Biophysical profile was 8/8.  Baby doing breathing movements!  And my consolation to the fact that I already weigh as much as at the end of my pregnancy with Allison...this baby's estimated weight is already as much as her birth weight (6-3) too.  Only 3 1/2 weeks until baby's birthday!  :-)!

28 Days!

Ok, now my countdown is in days not weeks/months!!  I can't believe it, these last 4 weeks are going to fly by!!  I am in some ways feeling very ready for this baby to be here.  I have a lot of "stuff" to get done and that I have planned to do in the next 4 weeks, but physically...ugh.  I feel HUGE!  Hopefully I will have some pics to post soon.  We had pictures done by Steff Jansen, Simply You Photography last week....I am anxious to see how they turned out.  Especially since like I said I feel so big and I am very uncomfortable.  This baby is VERY active.  I don't remember Allison being like this!  I also have this week been having to get up 2x during the night to go to the bathroom!  I just do NOT sleep well, so the baby might as well be HERE keeping me up!  Ok, not yet!  I also have heartburn (which I might have mentioned before).  Wow, that sucks!  I have never had to deal with that until this pregnancy and it is awful.  Tums are incredible though.  I am very thankful that these are the only things I have to complain about though.  I have not had any complications and am still working all my regular hours + some!  Speaking of, I need to get to work.  So have a good Tuesday everyone!

Allie Update

Well, after she woke up from her nap, with a raging fever again, she was laying on the couch and rubbing her ear.  I asked her if it hurt and she said yes.  Sometimes she says yes, sometimes she says no.  But I figured as long as we were both home I would see who was on-call for peds...and it was her Dr.  So, I got an appt. for later yesterday afternoon.  I was really hoping that I would take her in and they would just tell me that what she has is viral and reassure me that she doesn't have an ear infection...but sure enough, she did.  Poor kid!  He said the rest of her symptoms, nausea/vomiting, diarrhea, sore thoat, and cough probably ARE viral, he said he had seen a lot of that lately and everyone's strep tests were coming back negative.  But that since she has ANOTHER ear infection we needed to treat that anyway.  So again, we didn't test her for strep.  And she got started on Zithromycin now.  We have to make an appt. with ENT for sometime in the next couple weeks now.  Her one tube is still kind of in, but working it's way out and he's wasn't sure it was in the right place, so he wanted that looked at by them and also I suppose to talk about if and/or when we should do tubes again.  I am going to ask about tonsils at the same time if we do tubes again.  With her last 2 ear infections she has had a red throat too.  We'll see what Dr. Pesola has to say!

Poor kid had some pretty bad diarrhea last night...but NO accidents!!!!  I can NOT believe it.  I am so proud of her and feel so bad for her.  Anyway, no more episodes today (at least as of 9:30) and she seems MUCH better.  In fact I did take her to daycare today.  She ate her breakfast and some cookies on the way to daycare.  Well, I better go do something productive before my staff meeting now!!

My Little Sickie

Allison woke up yesterday morning and just before breakfast, it was actually sitting in front of her, she told me she had to go potty...She did, but she also threw up while sitting there!  Poor baby!!  I felt so bad for her I could have cried.  It is only the 2nd time in her life she has ever thrown up.  She was so calm about it.  I guess I would have expected a lot of crying and stuff.  I grabbed a towel and she wiped her hands on it (then we washed!!!).  She then had a pretty good day, no more throwing up, she did have some more diarrhea but she did not have 1 accident!!!  I could not believe it!  After she threw up in the morning and I realized she was sick, I offered her a diaper to wear, she refused!  What a big girl!!

This was her lunch.  Dry cheerios on the couch.  Actually she was eating them at the table and then I was doing something and she carried them over to the couch, covered herself with her little blankie and had her cheerios there!  After a 3 hour nap (which WE had to wake her from) she had a fever though.  She did eat some p.b. & J. toast for supper (and potato chips...don't ask!).  And I think she slept good, at least I didn't hear her all night!  But she woke up this morning with a fever again.  Pretty high - 102.

Here she is today, I had to take a pic of her today, she INSISTED on wearing this shirt from Grandma Linda that she got for easter.  It is sleeveless, so I made her wear a long sleeve undershirt under it.  At 10:30 she ASKED for a nap!  So she is napping now...actually I think she is up now, it is 1:15.  I heard her coughing.  She has a fever and cough today.  No more pukes since yesterday morning!  Thank God!  Not sure how the rest of our day will go with such an early nap...maybe in bed at 6 tonight?!  I just hope she feels better soon and that we don't get another ear infection!!!!  NO antibiotics PLEASE!  Poor kid!

Prayer Request

I would just like to put out a prayer request for Jen Norbie.  She is a good friend of my best friend, Holli.  So I know her through Holli.  Long story short, she has been battling breast cancer since her early 20's (I think).  At that time she underwent chemo/radiation and a double mastectomy.  After a period of remission she was given the ok to have a baby.  She and her husband, Luke, had their little girl Kaiya almost 4 years ago.  At the time of her delivery they found more cancer and they didn't think she would make it to her daughter's first birthday.  As I said, Kaiya is almost 4 now!  But things are not looking good now.  She is in the hospital now.  Click HERE for her Caring Bridge Site.  It is especially hard with Easter and her daughter's birthday coming up (May 1, I think), and her sister is due to have a baby soon.  Anyway, I know it is not in our hands, but God's.  If everyone could just say some prayers for comfort and peace during this difficult time.  Thanks!

34 Weeks!

It is such a relief to be 34 weeks.  Not that I have had any trouble with preterm labor or anything, but it just feels good to know that if I did go into labor or anything now, I could deliver at Rice!  I hope to make it to my SCHEDULED date, of course, but feels good to know I wouldn't have to be transferred if I went into labor anymore.  But 5 weeks to go until my c-section!  Yikes, I better get to work!

Countdown to 30!

Happy Birthday to ME!  I know I have posted about this in past years for my birthday, but I really do look forward to my birthday every year.  And usually I tease my husband (or when I was younger my parents and brother) that April was my birth MONTH to celebrate me ALL month!  The older I get the more it really just sneaks up on me and comes and goes without much fan-fare.  But that's ok.  Today was a good day.  I didn't do anything super fantastic but the weather was very nice (that always makes me happier!).  Here's how I spent my day...
7 a.m.  wake up!  Got to sleep in 2 more hours then I do when I have to work, YEAH!  (Except minus the 2 hours I was awake from 3:30 to 5:30 ish...ugh).  Got Allie up and took her to daycare.
8:30 back home, but first a quick stop at Perkins for a yummy muffin for breakfast!
10:40 Dr. appt.  Everything was good.  Just a routine appt.  Next one will have an ultrasound - last one!  Last chance to get a more official gender confirmation!!
11  Lunch with one of my favorite people!  Love ya, Holli!!!  :-)
12  CPR recertification...least fav. part of day.  Oh, well, that is done.
2:30  Got my license renewed, quick stop at Target.
3:30  Picked up my FAVORITE Baby Girl from daycare!  She is so wonderful, I love her so much.  I told her it was my birthday and she insisted it was hers too.  I will share with her...but ONLY her!  So, we stopped at Culver's for a Concrete Mixer to celebrate with.  Which we ate outside when we got home.
5:30  My parent's came up and took us out for supper for my birthday.  We ate at Green Mill, I got to pick and I picked there because I never get to go there, my husband has a pure hatred for it, mostly because we ALWAYS seem to get bad service and according to him the food is always disappointing.  Well, service was good tonight (got our food relatively quickly), all of our food was good - Allison even ate really good!  Only bad thing was our fries were cold - but still good, I thought.

Oh, and Jesse brought home more Pizza Corner Pizza for me for my birthday!  We'll have to save them for another day!  But I can't wait.  I was really hoping that is what he would bring me!

Now the countdown is on for my 30th Birthday!  Which, I will be celebrating in Vegas!  And by doing a 1/2 marathon (hopefully) somewhere next spring/summer!  (That is my motivation to get back in shape!!)  Who's with me??  I'm serious!

Embarassing Moment

So yesterday I was home with Allison and we had a bunch of errands to run.  She had found a barrett and put it in her hair herself.  When I went to comb her hair I took it out, but I didn't want her to get upset that I took it out, so I stuck it in my hair, RIGHT on the back of my head.  Well, of course, I forgot it was there.  We went out and ran our errands.  We went to the library, bank, Target, JC Penney salon (Allie got her hair trimmed up), and to Subway.  I found it when we got home and I was getting ready for my dentist appt!!  Yikes!  I wonder what everyone thought!  Especially the girl at Penney's who cut Allison's hair!

Could it be??

Could it be possible that we are potty trained???  Wow!  I so dreaded potty training and all-in-all it went really good!  I know we are not out of the woods yet and we still have some things to work on, but Allison is pretty much potty trained!  I credit the quick success to her being ready and nothing we really did except finally taking the time and patience to make her do it.  She is "pee" potty trained and we are working on poop.  Last Thursday she pooped on the potty for me, I was sooo excited but otherwise she has been "saving" that for at night when she has her night-time diaper on.  She did have one poop accident Sat. during her nap, but I blame that partially on a busy weekend, up late Friday night and away from home Sat. And then today she had a poop accident at home.  She was downstairs and Jesse was upstairs and he heard her start crying, really hard.  He ran down and she was standing in the middle of the living room crying he said.  (I was working).  She wouldn't tell him what was wrong, but he knew...he could smell it.  But he did really good with her.  Told her it was ok, she had an accident and that she should tell us when she has to poop and go on the potty.  I guess later she did tell him then and she did have some small success on the potty too!  So we still have to work on the pooping thing, but I think that how bad she felt is a sign that she doesn't want to do that and hopefully she will tell  us next time.  I am so proud of her I could burst!  I don't know at what age kids are supposed to be night time trained too, but I don't expect that for a while.
