Kara's 2 year Stats

Miss Kara is just about EXACTLY the same size as Allison was at 2 years old!  Tall and skinny!  They are good eaters (most of the time) but very active kids, so that is good.  Kara was 35 inches (same as Allison was) and 25 lbs 4 oz (Allison was 25 lbs even).  And best part of the appointment, no ear infection!!  Yea!

Rides!

There was a little carnival set up in the mall parking lot this weekend.  I saw it Thursday, then forgot about it until today when I had to run to Herberger's for something.  Jesse and the girls were home, so I went home and got them and we put our pork chops in the fridge for tomorrow night and went to the carnival, followed by Qdoba for supper.   Allie's request!  Was fun to spend a nice evening outside!
Allie is all smiles...Kara wasn't sure what to think.

Allison looks too grown up here!!

Start of Summer??

Memorial weekend...the "unofficial" start of summer.  Well, it felt NOTHING like summer this year!  Kara's birthday party was Saturday of Memorial weekend, and originally we had planned (and hoped) to be able to have it at my parent's new place on Lake Osakis.  Well, a week before the party date, the forcast was not good!  So, we changed locations to our house.  But I had not been to the new lake place yet, and was really desperate to go, so after the party the kids and Jesse and I packed up quick to go.  I knew the forcast was 50's (MAYBE 60), rainy, windy.  Ugh!  So, MUCH to Allison's dismay, no shorts or swimsuits were packed.  I promised her I would buy her one if she went in the lake...she didn't.  But we made the best of it and had a good time regardless!

Get Ready...

Where did May go??  It was a busy month!  Trip to Rochester for my godson's 10th (and golden) birthday, Mother's day, last day of Preschool for Allie, Kara's 2nd birthday, and Memorial Weekend!  Get ready for a post marathon!

Happy Birthday to Nick!!

My favorite Godson (ok only, but that doesn't change anything! :) turned 10 on May 10th!  I can't believe he is 10 already!  I remember when he was born...I was going to college in Mankato and I remember visiting him and his mom, my aunt Nancy, in the hospital.  He was born a bit early and had to stay in the hospital some extra time.  I must say, he was one of the cutest babies ever!!  And has turned into a still very cute boy (at 10 it is still ok to call him cute, right?!).
B-day boy with his Yummy DQ cake!  And 10 candles!

Twin's fan!!

Mother's Day 2013 - I am lucky!

I am lucky.  I have the best mother and mother-in-law a girl could ask for.  They are caring, supportive and SUPER helpful!!  I am lucky to have a good relationship with both.  I am also lucky to have 2 wonderful, sweet, beautiful daughters.  Who also are lucky to have amazing women as their grandma's!  Yes, we have some amazing women in our life!  So for Mother's day (which also happened to be fishing opener, so my husband and dad were gone anyway) we had girl's day.  Started with both grandma's coming to church with us for a special mother's day celebration and Allison sang in church.  Then we went out to eat.  Had a great lunch at El Tapatio.
Having muffins with Grandma's.

Isn't she beautiful...I am blessed!

And she loves to sing!!

Me and my girls...this pic took some bribery and I am not sure what is up with Kara's face!!  They were beyond done and ready for lunch!

3 generations of Berntson/Mages women!

Jesse didn't forget me.  I got a massage (one hour!!) from a professional.  I still have to cash in on that one of these days!

Miss Kara is 2! (And it shows!)

Miss Kara turned 2 on May 24.  My sweet, but spunky, wild child has been showing her two-ness for a few months now!!  Ha!  Acting like quite the independent, "ME do it!!" girl!  She got to open a couple presents early, and then had a wonderful and fun 2nd birthday despite the (once again) cold/gloomy weather.
Opening her first gift...before the party!  Gotta read the card first, ha!

I think she likes it!!

Grandma Nancy and Miss Kara...playing with Grandma's iPad!

Bubble Guppy Cake!!  Thanks Grandma Nancy!

She has this present thing down!!  One of the 3 or 4 beach towels she got!  She is SET!

Reading the cards again, this girl is advanced!!

New sunglasses!

I wanted a pic of my girls together, this was the best I got.  Yup, I dressed them alike.

Super excited for her cake and to be sung to!  She LOVED that!

The younger kids group!  Back: Emma and Jack, Front: Laura, Briena, Kara and Allison

Make a wish!  I was suprised no one else blew out her candles for her, but the kids let her do it!  And she did!  Got both of them!!

Loving her cake!

Yum!
