Campfires and fishing...Life at the lake

A few pics of our campfire and fishing adventures while on vacation at Lake Osakis over the 4th weekend.

Had to include this one, because this is the funny face Kara makes.  Her timing when she does it is perfect, you are trying to be serious with her and she does THIS to you.  It is almost impossible not to laugh.  Oh this girl!!

4th of July

Once again, as is our tradition now, we went to the Dave and Bonnie Triplett cabin on Lake Henderson by Willmar for the 4th.  It was a warm and wonderful day spent on the lake with good friends!!  That evening after supper, we headed to Osakis to spend the weekend at the lake with my parents.  Kids got to stay up late and take in some fireworks.

Go TWINS!

Thanks to Brad and Jodi for inviting us to a Twins game this summer!!  Brad got some great tickets to a Twins Game from a vendor and we got to tag along.  Our seats were awesome!!  It was so much fun, even though we got rained on off and on!  And the Twins lost.  :(

Jodi and I, sad it is raining, rain delay in the game!

Gymnastics...Fantastic!

Allison got to be in summer rec activities this summer.  She was in gymnastics in June and loved it.  Not sure yet if we have a future gymnast on our hands, but I think she will try it again!

Getting ready to do a backwards summersault!

All smiles!

Trip to the Zoo

The last week in June we got a good deal on a trip to the zoo from a good friend, does it get any better??  ;)  The girls and I went to the MN zoo with Jamie and her daughter, Rachel (just a few months younger than Kara).  It was so fun (and busy with 3 busy little girls!!).

Allison, Kara, and Rachel...on our way to the farm.

This is a big step...my kids are ACTUALLY TOUCHING the goat!!

Father's Day 2013

For Father's day we went to Jesse's parents house.  Spent the morning having brunch and a late lunch before heading home.  Jesse's grandpa, Delano (Nancy's dad) was able to join us.  We (especially Jesse) cherish all the time we have with his Grandpa as he has cancer that has noticably taken it's toll in the last year and we aren't sure how much longer he may have with us.  And later after we got home we fed my dad supper on his way home from the lake.

My Stay-cation

Welcome to a night of blogging, finally!!  I can't believe it has been a month since I blogged last.  I actually really thought I had already done father's day!!  (And how was that a month ago already??!!)  Anyway, scroll down to see what we have been up to...probably not in order!  This was on my to do list for my "stay-cation" and it is 10:20 on Thurs night and I am finally getting to it!  Yikes!  Anyway, let me start by telling you about my week...

Last weekend I spent the weekend at my old stomping grounds back in Hector for the annual Corn-chaff days.  Jesse and the kids came for the parade...it rained and was chilly...that NEVER happens at Corn Chaff days!  It is usually swealtering hot and sunny in beginning of July!  Although later in the afternoon after the clouds cleared and that strong July sun came out, it did get hot.  Kids went to grandma and grandpa Mages's house for the night and I got to enjoy a night out with friends.  It felt so good to not have to rush home Sunday to get about 100 things done before the work week began again!  I picked up the kids after watching some of the annual softball tourney Sunday and we spent the night at my brother, Dan, and his wife, KerryAnn's house.

On Monday we headed out to Mankato to visit a college friend and her kiddos.  She has a pool, so that was great on this, another warm day.  I loved visiting her and catching up.  We don't see each other nearly often enough.  Unfortunately another good college friend, Sara, was not able to join us on short notice, but now we have a reason to get together again this summer!!!

Tuesday the kids went to daycare and I got some things done around the house (and took a nap ;).  Wednesday we went to the Y and then the pool in the afternoon.  Today the girls went to daycare again I got more done, went to the Y, and got to do a little shopping in New London before I picked Allie up early to go to Despicable Me 2 (it was great!!), then T-ball for Allie and pictures there.  Tomorrow the plan is to go to another pool (that makes 3 different pools this week!) with a friend from high school and her little girl.  It has been a great week!!  Do I really have to go back to work??
