Ear Infection...Round 2??

So, we were at the ENT in Jan. and Allison's right ear tube had fallen out, the left one was still intact.  But her ears looked good at that time.  Well, starting Mon. evening Allison had a fever.  She ate fine, played good, acted perfectly fine, except that she had a fever!  Continued on and off like this all week.  Gave her Motrin and Tylenol for the fever and it would go away for a while.  She had NO other symptoms.  Not even so much as a runny nose or cough, and didn't complain of anything hurting!  She was fever free Wed. night and Thur. morning so I thought she was getting better (from whatever it was she had).  Well, when Jesse picked her up Thur. from daycare he called me at work and asked if I had made her an appt. with the dr. yet.  So, I called her pediatrician and they were able to squeeze us in this morning.  She woke up early Fri. morning (at 4 a.m. and 5) crying and had a fever again.  As soon as I went in her room she was talkative and perky (yes, even at 5 a.m. - I was a little worried she wouldn't go back to sleep!).  But I gave her some motrin for the fever and I was asking her if anything hurt.  She pointed to her throat and then I pointed to her left hear and asked if that hurt too, she said it didn't but pointed to her right one and said that one did.  I was glad we had an appt. for later in the morning!!

Well, shocker!  She has her first ear infection since LAST Dec (2009).  The ear tubes worked WONDERFULLY while they were in place!  But now the right one has only been out a couple months (well, that we know of anyway, don't know EXACTLY when it fell out) and she already has an ear infection in that ear.  The left one looked good and that tube is right where it should be.  She did also have a sore throat, we chose not to have her tested for strep since she was going to be on antibiotics for her ear infection anyway.  So, we started Amoxicillin today.  Ugh.  And so begins my worrying, every time she is irritable, has a cold, or a fever, I will immediately wonder if she has an ear infection now!!  And if we will have to do Round 2 of ear tubes!  Like I said they worked wonderfully while they were in place, so I would def. do them again if needed, but I think for how much they cost, there should be some kind of 2 year warrenty at least!!  But luckily winter is ALMOST...over, so maybe we will be lucky and this will be her only one.  Fingers crossed!

Snow Day!

I kind of felt like I was back in school again and got a snow day yesterday!  I wasn't scheduled to work yesterday, although they did call me, there really wasn't any way I could get there.  For one my car was still at work from Sunday night, I was too chicken and had heard from multiple people that there was large drifts on side streets and people were getting stuck and my Altima does not handle snow well!!!  So I had called Jesse and made him come pick me up after work, that's what he gets for not letting me take his truck Sunday morning (I asked, he said I wouldn't need it!!).  So, I didn't have my car and even if I did, our road wasn't plowed until 9 or 10 and so I wouldn't have been able to get anywhere in it anyway!  BUT even better than the fact that I was at home, but Jesse came in and told me that HE wasn't going to work either!!  YEAH!!!  After working all weekend, starting Thur. actually, it felt REALLY good to get an "extra" day to spend with my WHOLE family.  In the end Jesse did end up going into work for a couple hours, but it was after we had breakfast together and he was home with pizza for lunch!  I got a fair amount of stuff done, a little laundry, dishes and scrubbed the kitchen floor.  Then after everyone got a nap (I think Allison and I are the only 2 that slept) we went and shoveled my car out and went to the Y.  It was a good day.  I was going to blog with pics for this Tues. blog, but didn't get my pics downloaded, plan was to do it during Allison's nap, but I decided I wanted one too.  Oh, and when Jesse was outside blowing the driveway out, he took Allison out with him!  It was great!  I love snow days!  And the fact that I don't have to make it up in June!  :-)

Under 100!

See that, to the right??  Ok, maybe you can't, it is really hard to read with this background, but I am at under 100 days left of my pregnancy!  98 actually it says today!  But really it is more like 91 (or less) since I am having a scheduled c-section at 39 weeks.  Wow!!!  3 months!  Where has time gone??  I am 26 weeks now.  Feeling baby move like crazy can even feel like sharp movement, i.e. like an elbow or leg vs. more round like head or butt.  Baby is head down, which is good even though I am having a c-section.  Breech babies can have hip problems (not very common, but nice that at least the baby is cooperating in that aspect!).  And I don't know if I said, but I passed my 1 hour glucose test!  Looks like even though I crave sweets and have NOT been very good about "limiting them" (come on, it is girl scout cookie season!!), my body is tolerating it!  I would probably actually lose weight if I couldn't have cookies!!  Anyway, I will post a baby bump pic soon again.  I am feeling more like myself with my blonde hair back too!  Happy, snowy day to everyone!!  Oh, and Happy President's Day!

Weekend Get-Away

Last weekend we went "away" for our winter weekend "get-away".  We went all the way to Alexandria, MN.  To Arrowwood Resort.  It was a lot of fun, but I am hoping for somewhere a little further from MN, and preferrably tropical for next year!  Anyway, I was a bit nervous about the weekend just to see how Allison would sleep.  She is an excellent sleeper at home in her crib, but we have had some issues with traveling and sleeping (See post from last May, trip to Rochester...ended up coming home in the middle of the night).  Anyway, she did GREAT!!  She is such a good girl, I am so proud of her.  She is sooo ready for her "big girl" bed.  (Momma just has to get the room painted and a headboard!!!).  But any question I had about whether or not we needed a side rail was answered.  She fell out of bed Sat. night at the hotel.  Kinda funny though, I had put pillows down beside the bed, she landed right on them and didn't even wake up!  I couldn't beleive it!  Anyway, we went with Rath's, Triplett's, and Wegscheid's, and everyone had so much fun.  Allison and Audrey, and Grady after getting used to it Friday night, LOVED the water!!  It is fun to watch them play and interact now.  Here are some pics (thanks to Jodi and Holli...this poor excuse for a mom forgot her camera!  And I was sure I had remembered EVERYTHING!!!!)
The girls!  Briena, Audrey, Allie
Awww, look at our new baby!  Ha!  J/K, I am holding Briena.  I can't wait to be holding ours!  Allison doesn't sit still for more then 5 seconds anymore I don't think!  It's like a future pic of what our family will look like in 6 months.
Audrey and Allie...little fishies!
Allison was soooo sad, Sat. morning right after getting to the pool, the closed the wading pool with all the fun stuff for younger kids in it!  Some kid pooped in it!  Allison repeated "No pooping in the pool" for the rest of the weekend!

Happy Valentine's Day!

I was looking through pics for one of Jesse and I, turns out we don't EVER take pics of the 2 of us anymore.  Why would we when we have a beautiful, fun, and much more photogenic 2 year old to take pics of?!  Anyway, here is me and my valentine (or 1 of them, Allie is of course my valentine too :).

Even though we aren't super romantic, I love Valentine's day.  This year, like pretty much everything else, it seems to have come out of nowhere!  It doesn't help that we were gone all weekend, and it is on a Monday, so that is what I am blaming it on.  Don't tell, but as of right now I don't have so much as a card for my sweetie!  (Going as soon as Allie gets up from her nap).  I hope my husband is doing better, but if not, I understand.  I do have supper planned, that counts for something, right?!

My husband did do something that I found very romantic recently.  He came home with my favorite bar pizza.  I love Pizza Corner pizza from the BL bar.  Mostly I have enjoyed it as a night-cap with my favorite people when we get together in BL-H area.  But it turns out they do sell it other places.  No where in Willmar, I can tell you that, I have looked!  But my husband came home with some that he found when we was delivering somewhere (I don't remember where now).  I thought it was pretty thoughtful!

Here's the 1/2 eaten pizza!  We did finish it after I took the pic!!  Hmmm, I would be ok if he brought home more pizza corner pizza for me for Valentine's Day!!

Long-Long-LONGING for WARM WEATHER!

I can't even tell you how badly I want to leave this frozen tundra right now!!!  I am soooo sick of snow and cold, not just brrr cold, it is like absolutely arctic, frigid COLD (-20 AIR temp cold!).  We have so much snow you can hardly see our mailbox!  I dream at least daily of warm, sandy beaches!!  And it doesn't help that everytime I turn around someone else is jetting away for a week in some tropical paradise!

I know, I really shouldn't complain.  It was us last year.  We got to spend an oh, so wonderful week in Riviera Maya, Mexico.  And I was pretty sure we wouldn't be going anywhere this year because I was hoping to be having another baby.  And I feel so blessed that we are.  But, oh, this year is hard.  I seriously don't remember ever wanting to leave so badly!  I long to just walk outside without a coat and not freeze to death.  I really long to see a sandy beach and lay in the sun.  I long to have beautifully bronzed skin.  Instead I feel pasty white, but not that it matters, I spend 99% of the time covered from head to toe with just my eyes peaking out!
