9 Months

I'll start with the stats...Miss Kara is 19lbs 3 oz and 28.25 inches long.  It's funny because everyone seems to think she is so much chubbier than Allie.  Turns out she is pretty much the same wt. as Allie was at 9 mo. (1 oz less actually) BUT 1.5 inches LONGER!  But I knew and I have been hearing from friends and even Dr. Swanson's nurse when we had her in for her appt. that she "must have hit a growth spurt".  I guess that's where all those night feedings are going?!  Ugh.  Yup, she is STILL getting up at night.  But in her defense, there always seems to be something triggering it.  And to be honest, I think we are close to having her sleep all night now.  So, at 9mo. she was getting up at night, but hopefully by 10mo. I will be able to say she is consistently sleeping all night.  At her appt. (which to be honest was 1 1/2 weeks ago!) she was 100% healthy!  It felt sooo good to hear that!  It seems we were always battleing something, first it was ear infections then after she got her tubes she got RSV!  What else has my busy girl been up to...crawling.ALL.OVER!  Talking up a storm, "dadada, mamama", patty cake and sooo big!  Oh, yeah, and we got some teeth!  (That didn't help the sleeping issue either!).  So, as I was looking through the pics I attempted to get at 9 mo. I realize why we get professional pics taken!!  I have NO patience for this!!  Here was my product...

Yup, she is chewing on a marker.  Teething...and more teething!

I GIVE UP!

In my opinion, the best product.  She is bored, wants her marker back, and I wanted just one more pic, so I took this one with my phone.  Ahhh, I love this girl!  She has a lot of spunk, that is for sure!!

And she's Off!

Yup, Kara is crawling.  And into EVERYthing!  You can't leave that girl alone for 2 seconds!  And her toys are TOTALLY uninteresting.  Ha!  It's not so bad when Allison is with her, she is such a good helper (too good sometimes) and will make sure she isn't getting into things she isn't supposed to or tell me.  This morning I thought they were both in the office playing, I was finishing getting ready in the bathroom and I called for Allison to come brush her teeth.  She answered me from downstairs!  So I figured I better investigate what Miss Kara was busy doing in the office...

And here she was.  Busy digging in the shredder paper.  Thankfully nothing had hit her when she pulled it over!!  And it wasn't plugged in (I haven't used it in ages!).  But oh, she was busy.  And she knew she was caught as soon as she saw me.  In fact she is usually happy to see me and instead, she was not happy to see me!  It was like, mom, go away!!  Oh, we are going to have our hands full with this one!

Miss Kara, my busy, crazy girl!  She is so close to crawling!  She has been getting up on all 4's for a week or so now and she rocks back and forth and then does this little scoot/lunge forward for whatever it is she is trying to get to.  Between that and rolling she usually manages to get what she wants.  She is starting to move her hands now and I know it won't be long and she will be full on crawling all over!!  Oh, my baby is growing up soooo fast!!!  Can I stop time for a while??

I love these girls!!!

Special Gift

I am going back a little here, I meant to post this after Christmas...so it is a couple months old, but I still wanted to post it!

When my Grandma Lorrie was still alive she got Emma and Allison rocking chairs for Christmas (they were 11 mo. and 1 that Christmas).  They are beautiful handmade rocking chairs, a wonderful, lasting gift!  My mom still has hers from when she was a little girl that we used when we were little.  Well, my Aunt Cindy and Uncle Les surprised us and continued the tradition by giving Kara a rocking chair in Grandma Lorrie's memory.  I am so touched and happy that she will have that gift!

So much more to post...so little time!  And I need to go to bed now!  Nights last night.  We have "gone live" with EPIC at work.  It is interesting.  There are definitely some bugs in the system and I am sure we will continue to find more, but luckily we have EPIC support people there that are getting right on the issues...not that they are resolved right away though!  Anyway, enjoy and hopefully I will post more later!

RSV Has Hit Home :(

Well, I have been seeing it at work for a while, the peds side has been FULL of kids with RSV.  And I made the HUGE mistake of saying to someone that I have never had to do nebs at our house!  WHY did I say that??  Guess what?!  We are doing nebs here! 

She looks so happy in the pic, but shortly after I took it she was mad because I wouldn't let her take the mask off!  I think she thought it was a game at first.  She is doing pretty good with them so far though, last night we had to give one in the middle of the night and the LAST thing you want to do EVER is wake a sleeping baby at night (especially when you have been wishing, praying and hoping she sleeps through the night soon!).  And I NEVER thought she would sleep through her neb, the machine is noisy and it blows the cool mist on her face, well, she didn't even MOVE during her night time treatment!  (She did wake up 2 hours later though, I think she is extra thirsty/dry with this virus too tho, will be interesting to see what happens when she is healthy!)  She is pretty wheezy, tight sounding and has an icky cough, poor kiddo!  I hope she is feeling better soon and I REALLY hope it won't require another dr visit/hospitalization before this is over!! 

Kara's 6 Mo. Photo Sample

Kara's 6 month photo session went sooo well!  It really was a lot of fun!  She made up for the difficult time we had at her newborn session!!  And she is oh, SOOO cute if I do say so myself!  Look at those cheekers, don't you just want to squish them and kiss them!!  She is really sweet and so much fun these days!!  (She is 7 months now!!).  Such a happy girl!
